* Christina Nilsson - The Irresistible
Ingegerd Björklund acts as the Swedish Singer Christina Nilsson (1843-1921) who was a mega star during the second part of the 19th century both in Europe and America.
Christina Nilsson's life was really dramatic, so you will learn a lot about madness, love and struggles, but also about FAME, in this extraordinary show, where Dr. Ingegerd Björklund also sings from the elder singer’s repertoire to her own piano accompaniment.
The shows can be combined with Ingegerd Björklund's art exhibitions on the same theme.
* Nobel Resound
Sweden is a country of innovations and many of them are strongly connected with the Nobel family. Dr. Ingegerd Björklund presents a very special programme focusing on the doner of the Nobel Prizes, Alfred Nobel. Dr. Björklund tells about the innovater's life and she sings Songs based on lyrics by some Nobel Prize Laureates. Among them Boris Pasternak, R. Tagore, Gabriela Mistral and Selma Lagerlöf can be mentioned. She might also include episodes from the Branobel story and how the Nobel brothers Robert, Ludvig and Alfred got involved in the oil industry both in Azerbadjan and in Russia. Ingegerd Björklund also offers very unique art exhibitions on the Nobel theme.
* Dag Hammarskjöld - Offer
A very special programme focusing on the former UN Secretary General, Dag Hammarskjöld (1905-1961). Based on her own research Dr. Bjorklund tells episodes from Dr. Hammarskjöld's life and sings Songs strongly connected with him. Ingegerd Björklund even presents extensive art exhibitions on the same theme.
* Northern Lights
Ingegerd Björklund presents a beautiful selection of Songs from the Nordic countries composed by Grieg, Sibelius, Alfvén and Peterson-Berger among others. Even Folk Songs and Björklund’s own Songs can be included, but also Songs by some Russian composers like Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. "Northern Lights" is a very interesting programme, perfomed either with piano or orchestra, which Ingegerd Björklund has given with great success in the Carnegie Hall New York, among many other venues. Ingegerd Björklund even presents beautiful art exhibitions entitled "Northern Lights".
* Voix Céleste
Ingegerd Björklund is an excellent Concert Organist and Soprano, with organ improvisation as her speciality. The album "Voix Céleste" was recorded LIVE in Sofia Church, Stockholm, Sweden recently and it consists of music composed by Swedish and French composers. The concert programmes entitled "Voix Céleste" can certainly include music from other countries as well.
* Royal Swedish Music
Based on her own research in the archieves at the Royal Castle, Stockholm, Sweden, Dr. Ingegerd Björklund presents a unique programme with Songs and Piano music composed by members of the Swedish Royal Family. The album "Bernadottemusik" was recorded LIVE at Örebro Castle, Sweden. Ingegerd Björklund also presents art exhibitions on the Royal theme.
* Adelina Patti - The Queen of Coloratura
The Italian Opera Singer was born in 1843 and she grew up in a very musical family. Childhood she spent in New York. She touned the American continent before she made her opera debut in her home city at the age of 16. A star was born and she was called "the liittle Jenny Lind". A few years later she conquered Europe and became the leading coloratura soprano of her time. Patti has to be compared to nova days pop-stars. She earned a fortune and enjoyed a luxary life, which included that she bought a castle in Wales, Her private life was stormy. In her third marriage she married the 27 years younger Swedish baron Rolf Cederström. Based on her own research, Dr. Ingegerd Björklund presents the fascinating story of Adelina Patti and sings songs from the elder singers repertoire.
* Diva contra Diva
The Opera Singers Christina Nilsson and Adelina Patti were of the same age and competed at the same time on the most famous stages of the world, although they hardly ever sang in the same hall at the same time. It was a real battle among the opera lovers. The Russian composer Peter Tschaikovsky heard them both and compared their art of singing. Who was the winner? Ingegerd Björklund tells fascinating stories about Christina Nilsson & Adelina Patti and sings songs from their repertoires.
* Swedish Opera Stars
Jenny Lind (1820-1887) was called "the Swedish Nightingale". The Swedish soprano had a short, but very successful opera career both in Europe and in America. She was adored of her audiences and even the famous Danish author H. C. Andersen was in love with her. In her footsteps the mega-star Christina Nilsson followed and she was the first Swedish opera singer to perform at The Metropolitan Opera House. By marriage the renown coloratora soprano Adelina Patti also became a part of the Swedish opera history. In "Swedish Opera Stars" Ingegerd Björklund tells exciting stories from Lind's, Nilsson's and Patti's careers and sings songs from their reperoires.
* Women making music
In this very special programme Ingegerd Björklund sings Songs composed by women and tells about their struggles for equal rights and their dedication to music. You will meet Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann, Alma Mahler, Agathe Backer-Grǿndah, Elfrida Andrée, Helena Munktell and many more.
* With liberate voice
From a struggling poor mother of tree small girls to the first Swedish female journalist! Meet Wendela Hebbe (1808-1899) and the influential men around her, among them the bishop Tegnér and the publisher Hierta, the founder of the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet". Ingegerd tells the dramatic story of Wendela Hebbe and presents music by her friends. Selections from Signe Hebbe’s opera repertoire are included. Ingegerd Björklund even presents an art exhibitions, based on Hebbe's own words.
* Unlimited
This beloved programme can include almost everything - from Opera selections to popular songs and Ingegerd Björklund’s own compositions. Together with the trumpeter Kaj Nyström she has toured the world with this programme. Recently the album "Unlimited" was released. Here Ingegerd Björklund sings in eleven languages, including Mandarin, Japanese and the Korean language as she accompanies herself on the organ. The album has been received with acclamation.
* Great Opera composers in Songs
Ingegerd presents some of the most beautiful Songs by Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Gounod, Bizet, Meyerbeer, R. Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak and many more.
* A Tribute to Linné
This is a special programme focusing on the great Swedish scientist Carl von Linné (1707-1778). Dr. Björklund sings Songs, in more than ten languages, to her own piano accompaniment and tells fascinating stories about Linné and his students, who conquered the world. It has to be noted that one of them was Daniel Sohlander, who was on board on Captain Cook's first voyage around the world, which resulted in the "discovery" of New Zealand and Australia. Other students visited countries such as China, Japan and Russia.
Ingegerd Björklund also offers special art exhibitions focusing on Linné.
* Milles and the Music
Dr. Ingegerd Björklund offers a special programme about the world famous Swedish sculptor Carl Milles (1875-1955) and his musical preferences. Music by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Sjögren, Alfvén and many more!
* Waves of Friendship
Ingegerd Björklund's "tailor-made" programmes with lyrics focusing on Friendship and the Sea have become very popular. Björklund sings art songs, popular songs and folksongs from many countries. Included are also her own songs. Ingegerd Björklund even presents art exhibitions on the same theme.
* The Red Lotus
East meets west! Ingegerd Björklund sings selections from Chinese Operas and Folk Songs from China, Japan and Korea in the original languages, but also beautiful settings of Chinese poetries by European composers. The programme can be presented with orchestra or piano.
